Accidentally Saw an Awesome Live Show

Those are the best. Last night I took my sister and her boyfriend to go see some live music here in Memphis at the Hi-tone. Originally we were there to see my friend's band Oracle and the Mountain but unfortunately I didn't get off work in time to catch them in all their awesomeness. However, we didn't know much about the headliner but went ahead and paid the ten bucks to get in and blindly waded into the hipster-esque crowd that consumes the Hi-tone on a nightly basis. I love this venue and the loyal regulars who come stomp their feet here almost every night. Anyway, the headliner was a band called O'Death. I didn't know what to expect. In my mind I had a notion it was going to be punkish hardcore, but I really had no clue. The band sets up, and I see an insanely large drum set, a gigantic base drum, a violin and a banjo. Oh and a trumpet. That's all I need. It happened to be one of those accidental shows that didn't suck and exceeded my expectations. Here is one of the songs they played at Festival Del Dour. The energy is insane.
P.s. they had way more noise-making objects at the Hi-tone. Obviously they have grown up a little more since this video was made. If they ever come to your town, check it out!
